The funding will support the university’s Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism Initiative and includes $10.5 million for the recruitment and retention of faculty from underrepresented groups - including training programs and resources for search committees to ensure that searches for new faculty are rigorous and inclusive - as well as the recruitment of diverse faculty in specific academic areas. Duke University has announced a $16 million grant from the Duke Endowment in support of efforts to increase faculty diversity and campus inclusion.
